Khuong Sreng considers sports a bridge of diplomacy and friendship without borders

Khuong Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh, said that sports is a bridge of diplomacy, and friendship without borders, sports is a friendship, and losing or winning is normal and an experience for the next game.

He made this remark on the occasion of the closing football match for January 7, Techo Santepheap Season 8, 2024, and to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the January 7 Victory Day, organized by the Youth League of Peace Lover in Phnom Penh on the evening of January 7, 2024, at the ACLEDA Business Institute Football Ground, Khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh.

“Youth League of Peace Lover has always organized sports events to celebrate “January 7 Victory Day” every year for eight years now, he said. This clearly emphasizes the spirit of gratitude, revenge, and protection of the truth of national history.

Sreng said that in the past 45 years, starting from the day of victory on January 7, 1979, and the introduction of the “win-win” policy of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the country has transformed into a country of peace, stability, national unity, democracy, and rapid development.

The Governor of Phnom Penh continued that the organization of sports events today is not only a testament to the encouragement and full support of the Royal Government of Cambodia and the administration of Phnom Penh to the Youth League of Peace Lover, but it also reflects the progress of sports in Cambodia and another new success of the implementation of the policy on physical education and sports of the Royal Government of Cambodia under the right leadership of the Prime Minister with the most pride.
