Nearly 300 suspects were arrested for drug offences in a week

In the seven days from February 5–11, the National Police continued to crack down on 133 drug offenses, arresting a total of 294 suspects. This is according to Touch Sokhak, Deputy Spokesman of the Ministry of Interior, on February 13.

Sokhak said that the fight against drugs is one of the six priority tasks that Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has implemented since the beginning of the seventh legislature by the legacy of safe village-commune-Sangkat policy and the guiding principles of Dr. Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia.

Based on the principle that everyone has the same rights and responsibilities before the law, especially with the principle of “cleaning our house” with the strictness of the premier, Sar Sokha carried out drug tests on National Police officers and prison officials of the Ministry of Interior, leading to the decision to expel a small number of officers from the framework after being found to be using drugs.
